Head of Risk Management, Internal Controls and Processes, Myanmar Brewery Limited
Jagath Guru, a Malaysian currently works as the Head of Risk Management, Internal Controls and Processes in Myanmar Brewery Limited (based in Myanmar) ever since December 2012. His current role involves managing the Risk Management portfolio of the Brewery, reviewing the control procedures and enhancing its business process. In addition he also oversees on the credit control aspect and plays key important role in Crisis Management, ensures that key Business Continuous Planning programs are being carried out on annual basis. Jagath has over 20 year of experience in the field of Internal Audit and Risk Management.
He started of his career as an intern in Cooper & Lybrand in Kuala Lumpur for 6 months prior to his graduation and upon graduation he joined the Sunway Group of the Companies as its Internal Audit Officer. Prior to his posting to Myanmar, Jagath has been working with Carlsberg Malaysia for about 15 years since starting of as an Internal Auditor and later as the Manager, Risk Management and Group Security.
Jagath completed his degree in Bachelor of Accountancy from the Northern University of Malaysia in 1994 and also holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Ecole Superieure de Gestion (ESG), Paris. He is also a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants and also Chartered Member of Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia.
